: ) Actually, it was a bit chilly today (73 degrees) so I had on jeans, a sweatshirt and blue jean jacket under the "Abaya" and was comfortable. I believe "burkas", which are blue and cover the head and face are only in Afghanistan.

Oooh, I like the pic of you in black (they're called burkas, no?). Check you out, looking over your shoulder like a top model, lol. Were you hot in there?

What a week....MLK's birthday and the swearing in of the first black american president. I'm so proud of my country and have been receiving well wishes all day. I also proudly have copies of Ebony and Essence (with Obama on the cover) on my desk in my office. I'm proud to be black and I'm proud to be American. Its been too long.....

Celebrating MLK Day has so much more meaning to me now that I'm not the US. I feel like I need to stop and remember, that I need to tell the people here how the US was 1968 and how I'm proud of what happened in 2008 and how hopeful I am for 2009. Thank you Dr. King again and again and again. I appreciate you more than I ever thought I would.

Hey girl!! How are you? By the look of your pictures, you're having a good time! Are you zip-lining?!?! YOU GO GIRL!!! I did that in Brazil - so much fun!!!
I have some friends who I can ask the tax question of. I'm bitchin' about being taxed by NY and NJ (finally found a place!) I better shut up!
We miss you!
Having our monthly dinner tomorrow night - Cynthia, Dawn and I. We always raise a glass to you. And we're so excited about coming to visit you later this year!
This is an interesting site. You mentioned so many things in your post about wanting to discuss, things I didn't think about living here or things I take for granted (hair!!) Cyn and I were talking about it after reading "Infidel" - she cut off her hair when she moved to Holland (did you read it?)

OK - back to work.
Always thinking about you!
xo

As tax season rolls around, does anyone have any recommendations on tax preparation. As a US citizen I'm still taxed on my income earned in Dubai (crazy, but true). Any thoughts?
