What, if any, impact is the troubled U.S. economy having on people living overseas?

Permalink Reply by Heather on January 12, 2009 at 11:09pm: Pure and simple - the blame for the global economic failure is laying at the feet of America. Everyday I hear someone mention that it is the greedy of America that has brought this hardship on the world. Yesterday at a conference, one of the speakers (Finnish) said that every other country than American had culture, nationalism, solid leadership and that the US wasn't a nation but an idea and that it was the immigrants that made America but Americans don't know this. I was astounded - but I was probably one of 10 Americans in a room of 500 people. Sometimes you have to be quiet, pray and speak from a place of strength and not anger. At the end of his speech, an Aussie stood up and proceed to cut his message to pieces. God is good all the time. After the speech, I caucused with the few Americans I knew in the room and one of us approached the speaker and calmly told him about himself as well. But this happens all the time and everywhere - hopefully change is coming.; ▶ Reply to This
