Okay I know I should be grateful and what not for being able to live in another country but I guess since I was in the military and going to different countries was part of my job, it just really wasn't a big deal. I've been out since 07. I meet my husband in late 07 and he's active duty. Now were here in Italy and so far I'm not impressed. First off they way you have to get your gas hooked up is so ancient. You have to wait on the corner of the street for a specified timeframe until the gas dude comes by and turns your gas on. I was waiting out there for like 2 hours in the freezing cold feeling like a hooker trickin for gas!!! Every car that came by I shaking and shivering hoping it's the gas dude. As long as the military has been here they couldn't have figured out a better way to handle this. Then you don't get your bills on a monthly basis, you get them every other month or just whenever. It takes 2-3 hours to wash half a load of clothes because the water pressure sucks here. Italians take a 3 hour lunch and the whole town shuts down at 8pm. So for folks thinking it would be soo great to live in another country, think of all of the inconveniences you'd have to deal with. We're in a great location to travel but when you come home you have to deal with actually living here.........
